Still at the beach in October.
And still obsessed with the tram and my T-Jove pass (unlimited metro card for students). The tram goes above ground, is awesome, and happens to connect us to this great shopping center (Gloriès) in five-ish minutes. Highlights of the shopping center include American fast food chains -- Subway, Starbs, Burger King (which has mozzarella sticks here, nbd) -- as well as the biggest grocery store ever in Spain (Carre Four) and a bunch of clothing stores. What really makes the ambiance, though, is the nearby Torre Agbar.
Our "Historia y cultura catalana" teacher referred to it as the "gran pene" of Barcelona, which was totally strange and pervy because no one else was thinking that at all. Apart from its noteworthy phallic shape, the Torre Agbar is recognized for its strange and shifting nocturnal lighting patterns. It induced semicircular lipoatrophy in a number of its workers. It may or may not be a real office building.
