At Peace

Reasons why I will pass out immediately after writing this:

-Gave a presentation in my lit class today in castellano in front of a room of 40ish Spanish kids. Survived. Drank a beer during the pausa (traditional break in the two-hour class) in celebration with the other two equally-relieved members of my group.

-Bought a plane ticket to Fes, Morocco. (Dad, send me recommendations! I couldn't pass up a trip after seeing all of the photos from the seminar you taught there).

Reasons why I will probably still stay up until 3 am:

-Habit.

-Hotspot Shield, a program that may or may not be legal and lets you watch Netflix, Hulu etc. from outside the US.

Other things:

-I was wondering why it smells especially like dog poop on my running path (I thought it might be, like, a mental thing associated with pain and discomfort). Fecal and urinary smells often waft through the streets of Barcelona, since dog poop is considered an art form not to be retrieved or dislodged from the sidewalk in any way. It turns out, though, that there is a Zoo just on the other side of the park I run through -- which is cool, I guess, but means that the fecal fumes will not go away with mere willpower.

Also notable in and around the park are this castle:

And this unicyclist.
